Non-Alcoholic Wine FAQs
Everything you need to know about alcohol-removed wine.
Frequently Asked Questions
Non-alcoholic wine is crafted to contain minimal alcohol content, comparable to that naturally found in fresh fruit juice. Edenvale wines are produced to preserve the distinct characteristics, aromas and flavour profiles that wine enthusiasts expect, while offering a non-alcoholic alternative everyone can enjoy.
At our $5M facility we use a GoLo unit with a world-first heat pump to separate genuine wine (crafted by Edenvale winemakers using traditional techniques) into alcohol, de-alcoholised liquid and essence. We then blend the de-alcoholised liquid and essence to create an alcohol-removed base that becomes Edenvale wine - faithful to traditional varietals.
It contains small traces - about the same as natural fresh fruit juice, and well below the government standard (less than 0.5% ABV) for non-intoxicating.
With less than 0.5% ABV, non-alcoholic wines are non-intoxicating, contain fewer calories than standard wine and retain naturally occurring antioxidants from grapes - a versatile alternative for the many occasions when you're choosing not to drink.
Edenvale winemakers go to great lengths to ensure our alcohol-removed wines have aroma and flavour profiles as close to authentic varietals as possible - our multi-award-winning Pinot Noir shows structured mulberries and cherries; our Sauvignon Blanc, herbaceous fruit aromas.
Edenvale wines contain trace amounts of alcohol - less than 0.5% ABV. Australia's health guidelines recommend not drinking alcohol at all during pregnancy, so we always suggest chatting with your obstetrician or GP about what's right for you and your baby.
All Edenvale wines are certified vegan (excluding the Expedition Series) and all are gluten-free - any food or beverage containing 10ppm or less can be certified gluten-free by the GFCO.
Keep the bottle upright in a dark, cool place away from direct sunlight, aiming for a constant temperature in the low teens Celsius. Refrigerate after opening (even reds) and drink within three days to enjoy at its best.
Edenvale is available Australia-wide at Woolworths, Coles and IGA, and online. We also export to Canada, the UK, Belgium, Sweden, China, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Japan and New Zealand - contact us about distributors.
